Day 16 of our Europe Tour
Friday 25th March
On this day, we were supposed to make the 3 hour journey to Santiago de Compostela. However we got completely side tracked…
We ended up stopping for lunch just outside of Cadavedo which turned out to be one of the nicest places we’ve seen, so glad for an impromptu stop! We parked in the Parking playa la Ribeirona 1, it literally faces the beach with the prettiest bay and bluest sea I’ve ever seen. We stopped and cooked up Spanish omelette and salad before taking a walk along the sands. We spent most of the day there and in hindsight probably should have spent the night there, as it was already late in the afternoon.
We headed on towards Santiago de Compostela, and chose to stay about an hour outside. This wasn’t really planned and after turning up to a couple of wild camp spots we weren’t to keen on, oh and going the wrong way twice, we ended up in Praia Dos Rias, specifically Aparcamiento Playa de las Torradas. I’m so happy we did, it was so beautiful, another uninterrupted view of the coastline and the sound of the sea roaring, it was really spectacular. We set up in around 10 minutes (after a two weeks on the road we’ve gotten quicker at the set up of the camper) and watched the sunset outside our TinTent with some (more) Spanish omelette.
