Day 18 & 19 of our Europe Trip

Sunday 27th & Monday 28th March

After a day spent relaxing and enjoying the sunshine from the campsite, we started thinking about making our way into Portugal. It wasn’t this day we made it to Portugal though, or the next. We kept getting distracted by all the lovely places that we passed by along the way. This is exactly what happened as it we arrived in Baiona, we hadn’t really planned it but we couldn’t not stop and have a look around. Its sits next to the water of the Vigo Bay and the Castelo de Monterreal wraps around the bay. It’s really breathtaking and I’d highly recommend taking a walk along the castle walls to get a panoramic view of the lovely town and dramatic coast. Oh, and I can also recommend the ice cream from Conde Heladeros Baiona especially the hazelnut!

In the evening, we drove to Camping Santa Tecla, close to the border between Spain and Portugal and stayed with a plan of waking up early and making our way over the border to Portugal.
