Day 2 of our Europe Trip
Friday 11th March
After a lovely breakfast and a blustery walk along the beach (not quite sunbathing weather yet) we set off for Rouen. We’d heard of this town but didn’t know much about it. So we set off. Rouen is lovely with the river Seine running through (we discovered this in many of the cities we visited) and the spire of the Notre Dame Cathedral poking out high above the city. Rouen is the capital in the region of Normandy and as we wandered around we admired the lovely medieval architecture structures, the churches, and the cozy coffee shops. Down the narrow cobbled streets, we saw beautiful shops crafting and selling handmade musical instruments.
After an afternoon there, we used the search for sites app (as we did with many of the places we found to stay) and parked up in the Foret Domaniale de Roumare, and cooked up chicken and veg fajitas before calling it a day.
