Day 4 of our Europe Trip
Sunday 13th March
A little later than planned, but as we had almost no plan at all it didn’t really matter, we headed straight to La Rochelle - no diversions!
La Rochelle so far on this trip was easily my favourite place, (although I feel like I’m going to say that a lot as everything is so great), with its gorgeous harbour and cafes all along the front. It has a nice atmosphere and the buzz whilst we’re only in March was still lovely. Not to quiet, not too busy. I have to say the espresso and the salted caramel crepes were a real highlight as well, as we looked out across the water.
Another highlight, was a jetty that went on for what felt like forever and the panorama views were pretty special. One tip after learning the hard way ourselves was often the bridge across the water is closed, so parking in the centre at times can be tricky, so parking on the edge of town might be a better option for some.
After as few days on the road, we fancied a hot shower, so headed straight for the Camping Le Municipal Rayonnement in Rochefort. We didn’t explore Rochefort and only drove through to the campsite but it looked nice.
